DNS Leak Test
A trustworthy DNS leak test needs a dedicated DNS measurement backend. VisibleIP does not fake resolver results.
DNS resolver measurement is on our roadmap. Until it is live, this page explains exactly what to check rather than displaying invented results.
What is a DNS leak?
A DNS leak can occur when DNS queries go to a resolver outside the privacy path you expected, such as your ISP's resolver while a VPN is connected.
How a proper DNS leak test works
The test gives your browser unique hostnames to resolve. VisibleIP's authoritative DNS server then records which resolver asks for those hostnames. That server-side component is why a credible test cannot be implemented with static HTML alone.
